One of the most challenging types of photography is shooting in intimate low-light concert performances. You want to capture the performer deeply involved in the performance with limited or no motion blur. And you want to do so without using a flash! Again, the very high ISO changes the approach as well as the results.

These photos were taken in a small locale that, in daylight, is an instrument sales and repair shop. In the evening, Luthier's Coop in Easthampton, Mass turns into a coffee house-styled venue. It is indeed intimate and very friendly. With their permission, I photographed some of the performers. This is the very satisfying result!
