Welcome to Marcmandy Central. This is the hub from which you can find my various projects. It is here that I will highlight my latest interests and work.

If you are looking to see my larger body of work, clicking here will take you there. There is much there that is more current, including recent trips to Iceland and Hawaii.

I am also  now doing a Photo Blog highlighting my favorite photos. It is currently highlighting our recent travels through New Zealand. We spent a month in this beautiful country and I have much to show.

Allow me to preface this by stating that I am a survivor. At the end of 2010, I was diagnosed with Esophageal Cancer.  Nine months later, after a round of chemotherapy, some incredibly major surgery, and then another round of chemo, I began a long, slow return to the world of the living. The details of my recovery are no longer needed. Suffice it to say that none of what you see here would have been possible without the incredible support of my wife Cheryl, my son Devin, my mom, and the many friends and family members who were there for me in my time of need!

In the ensuing years leading up to now, I have explored many aspects of photography and have reached the point where I consider myself an artist. I have many visions and I am constantly looking to grow. I've learned a good deal more about the muse who keeps hitting me on the head and saying "get that camera out! and start snapping!" I've also learned a great deal about myself and those who surround me, as well as how I will live the rest of my life (however short or long).

The last two years have been a very creative time for me and I am now, finally, getting around to updating the site to be more representative of my current passions and projects. The most recent has been Time Exposure or, more currently, Long Exposure Photography. I have been exploring the possibilities in daylight, faerie light and night. I am delving more deeply into Light Painting and will be studying that over the next few months.

It's about bloody time, eh?
